For my most recent work I have focused on the combination of human experience and the natural world in an abstracted environment. My work depicts stages of life through birth to death and the experiences one's life will gain throughout time. My work at times speaks on issues we face globally through pollution and how it can affect the lives of many living things. Our daily lives and how we live are connected and reflect on what is to come. I have had a strong interest in drawing animals and their relations to human beings. In my work I combine these elements to connect with others, present the beauty, journey, mystery, and celebration of life and death.

I primarily work in ink and watercolor on mixed media paper or watercolor paper. I tend to prefer a black and white or neutral color palette that allows me to bring in high contrast to make my subject stand out. I start off with a pencil sketch to outline the blueprints for my work. I then go in with a black micron pen and outline, add small details, and shadows to bring my subject forward. To bring in mid-tones and soften out my shadows and highlights I use black watercolor washes to the subject that will help fill-in any areas that are too harsh. Some of my work has also consisted of a mixture of mediums. Such as collage, gouache, spray paint, and paint pens. Mixing mediums together has allowed me to bring out highlights and small moments of elegance that is in life and death.

In my work I hope to share with people the mysterious and delicate relationships we have with the natural world around us. My work is lively and dramatic in showing the combination of many living things. By finding the transition of elegance through life and death I believe we as human beings share a special relationship to the natural world that is an essential part of our growth and understanding of the world.
